| Her Look: Our dyehard writes us that in the photo above left "I’m cosplaying. That’s the Japanese pop culture term for wearing costumes of characters that they like, usually to conventions and events. I like to cosplay one of my favorite rock musicians, Mana from Malice Mizer (a Japanese gothic band)." She is also wearing MANIC PANIC After Midnight Blue Lipstick and White Dreamtone Foundation. She says "The lipsticks and Dreamtone foundation are very nice and go on evenly. I buy a lot of Manic Panic cosmetics and it’s definitely on my list of recommendations for good quality and non-expensive make up." | ||||||||||
| HOW'D SHE DO IT? Regarding the 2 bottom photos: "My first time using blue dye and I decided to start with something a little less difficult to achieve. I’d always wanted dark, dark bluish hair that lasts longer and doesn't cost a small fortune. Black & Blue seems to do just that. I bleached my hair myself, making it a very vivid orange…and let it dry overnight. I applied the dye along with a streak of Atomic Turquoise for highlighting the bangs. I combed the hair until it was nice and creamy, then but on a plastic cap and waited one hour and 20 minutes before rinsing. And Viola! I have the hair I’ve always wanted. Perfect. Black & Blue is great in conjunction with highlights of any other Manic Panic® color (blues, purples, pinks, etc.). It also makes a good temporary dye job. The color will show and give nice low-lights on hair that is light brown or lighter as well as other previously colored hair, but it comes out after 2 washes. Bleaching is necessary for longer lasting effects. A vivid orange is enough for the dye to show on the hair.To make my color last, I alternate between Manic Panic® colorizing shampoo and store-bought shampoo for color treated hair. I always wash my hair with room temperature water (maybe every 2-3 days) and use a load of conditioner to maintain health and shine." Re: top photo "This is two weeks after the second attempt at dying. It stayed nice and blue a lot longer than the first attempt. I had a good friend bleach my horrendously thick mop of hair into a nice Marilyn Monroe platinum blonde. I added the dye and left it in for a few hours, and viola. It survived more washes, especially since I take better care of it now. ^_^ |
