Summer 2002

MANIC PANIC® came out with a great new product: DYEHARD Temporary Hair Color Styling Gel. Tish and Snooky, in conjunction with Snapple, went on a cross–country promotional tour and gave out thousands of free samples. They set up their “Hair Stream Trailer” as the DYEHARD Barbershop and did free MANIC PANIC® Makeovers, wild–styling all across the U.S.A! The DyeHard Tour was so effective that Tish and Snooky were recently given an award for outstanding “gorilla marketing.”

Many thanks to you who showed up for the events and supported the MANIC PANIC® tour. You made it a huge success!

OUR 25 YEAR MANNIVERSARY!!!

MANIC PANIC® N.Y.C. celebrated 25 years as a New York based hair color and cosmetics company. New York and New Yorkers have been instrumental to our success — and we will never forget it. Our special “Manniversary” event honored heroes who helped our city so much after the attack on 9/11 — the K–9 units and Search & Rescue Dogs who worked so hard at the WTC and the all–volunteer Suffolk County SPCA who provided these dogs with much needed on–site veterinary care. An auction of celebrity designed dog collars, photographs, art, punk memorabilia and a special punk rock show yeilded proceeds that benefitted this organization.

We had asked a slew of our fave celebrities to decorate dog collars that were exhibited and auctioned at the company’s birthday party at Serena’s on Friday, September 13th, 2002, then followed up with an all–star punk rock extravaganza at CBGB’s. We matched each celeb to one of the WTC rescue dogs and they personally designed a dog collar to honor their rescue dog.

These one–of–a–kind, celebrity–designed, autographed collars were auctioned off at the MANIC PANIC® MANNIVERSARY event at SERENA’S and CBGB’s (N.Y.C.) on 9/13/02. All proceeds went to the Suffolk County SPCA to help them to continue their work aiding rescue dogs and other animals at disaster sites.
