I bought this fragrance a few years ago in the middle of spring, and it became my summertime staple. It conjures images of twilight porch parties with fairy lights, casually dressed in black silk and studs, while sipping creme de violette and lime. It's what I remember smelling stumbling home at 2 am on a balmy, black velvet evening, hair tossed by the lake wind, to my vintage record strewn apartment. It reminds me of being tangled in the arms of my long boarding lover, tossed in down comforters, with breezy tobacco scented open windows. This is the scent of a couple eloping from an underground gastro pub into the smokey jasmine air of night. Its the scent of a single woman with blazing hot pink lips, embers falling from her stick onto the dirty asphalt, as the ice-cream truck rolls by. The lonely, heated desperate song of summer. The gentle lull of the lawnmower, as is tells time. The aching hour before you meet your other half. The sweat mixing with whiskey, your time to sing in the streets. This is the scent of that summer. You have had one like it, and you have known love like it. When I am 90, I will smell this and remember that summer.
